Katie Jarrell ’14

Dr. Katie Jarrell PharmD, BCCCP, is a 2014 graduate of W&L. At W&L, she completed a Shepherd internship focused on healthcare outreach and education at UAMS East in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, and was involved in the Volunteer Venture program.


After earning undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and German language, she attended West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. Upon graduation, she completed two years of specialized residency training in critical care pharmacy in Charleston, West Virginia. In 2020, Katie began her current position as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy in Ada, OH. In this position, she focuses primarily on educating future pharmacists and teaches in several therapeutic modules, including cardiology, infectious diseases, GI & nutrition, and neurology. She also works clinically in the Neuroscience ICU at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH, and is a board-certified critical care pharmacist (BCCCP).


During the COVID-19 pandemic, Katie worked alongside pharmacy students to deliver free and accessible COVID diagnostic tests and vaccinations to Ada and the surrounding area. ONU was designated as a mass vaccination site for the state of Ohio and has delivered thousands of vaccine doses to surrounding counties. Katie has been invited to speak on topics such as COVID-19 therapeutics, sepsis, and interdisciplinary teaching and learning. She routinely provides continuing education opportunities for her peers, shares her research at local and national meetings, and is active in several professional pharmacy organizations, including OSHP, OPA, and SCCM. Areas of research include the scholarship of teaching and learning, critical care education,antibiotic stewardship, and ICU sedation.

Shiri Yadlin graduated from W&L with a degree in Religion and Global Politics and a minor in the Shepherd Program. She currently lives in Washington, DC, and serves as a Senior Program Manager at Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to expanding quality supportive housing programs to combat homelessness.


Shiri's career history includes direct service case management support to people experiencing homelessness, policy analysis and advocacy with community development organizations, and facilitation of public education campaigns related to affordable housing. Directly before joining CSH, she spearheaded the rollout of an initiative dedicated to mobilizing and equipping the faith community of DC to engage in housing justice work. Shiri holds a Master of Public Policy from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.

Tayyaba Zeb ’10L

Tabby is an Assistant Chief Counsel for the Office of Advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in Washington, D.C. She works on environmental law and policy issues related to chemical regulations under various statutes including the Toxic Substance Control Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. Tabby advances the views, concerns, and interests of small businesses before federal agencies, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); Congress; and the White House. She was recently appointed to lead the Pesticides, Chemical Regulation, and Right-to-Know Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. Prior to her work for the SBA, Tabby worked on environmental regulations at the National Association of Home Builders.


Tabby holds an LL.M. in environmental law from the George Washington University Law School. While pursuing her LL.M., she interned with the EPA, the Methanol Institute, and the Cyan Environmental Group. She received her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where she served as Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of Energy, Climate and the Environment.
