W&L’s Catherine McKean ’24 Selected For Fulbright to Germany
At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, an electrical fire occurred in Reid Hall. The building was unoccupied at the time. The sprinkler was activated, and the fire department responded quickly. The fire was contained to a third-floor bathroom. While there was no structural damage, the building sustained water damage and will be closed until further notice.
Public Safety, University Facilities and other university personnel are assessing the situation and will take appropriate actions to address the damage. Faculty and staff with offices in the building will be contacted regarding building access. We anticipate that today’s LiveWell 5K will take place as planned. Human Resources will communicate with participants if there is any impact on the event.
